the illustrated nails 2014 no: 2 | pastel colors + rilakkuma and whipped cupcake nail art design

Hi,

                  Before February ends, I would like to share this kawaii nail art design that i did last week. I have posted a short video of this nail art design and some pictures on this on my instagram. Yes, this is my rilakkuma nail art design *banana dance*. (as you can see on the intro photo Lol) I have been practicing making rilakkuma for months and just last week i finally got tha hang of it....my rilakkuma finally looked like rilakkuma, i was so happy! So i thought it'll be the perfect for a nail art design...

                 Are you guys ready to meet nancy 2.0? shes not that perfect though, i was a bit lazy adding up all the details sooo, i stopped with a semi-detailed nancy, hoho. maybe next month i'll upgrade nancy again? ^____^

               Let's move on to the tutorial.
 base coat to protect your natural nails.
 pastel yellow nail polish
 purple nail polish
 white nail polish
 small tip dotting tool
 pink nail polish
 brown nail polish
 yellow nail polish
 detail brush
 square brush
 white acrylic paint
 black acrylic paint
 bow fimo
 top coat
 buckets of patience

 first clean your nails, and apply base coat. a clean canvas is easier to work with ;)

 grab your yellow nail polish and paint them nails, leave the accent nail. And paint it with the purple nail polish. let it dry. apply a second coat to each nail to make the colors opaque. Again let dry.

 once your base coat has completely dried, grab your dotting tool and white nail polish and start making your polka dots pattern to all of your nails. let dry

 apply a thin coat of top coat before doing your main design. let dry ^__^
 ready your brown nail polish. dip your square brush to it and carefully draw the outline of your oval shape to your middle finger.
 when you're happy with your oval, fill it in with the same polish and let it dry.

 create circles on the sides of your oval for rilakkuma's ears ;)
LET IT DRY

 grab your detailing brush and black acrylic paint. Start outlining rilakkuma's head.
 let dry

 dip your dotting tool on your yellow nail polish and, create half moons on each ear.
 like so.

 before adding a stroke/outline to the yellow part of the ear, make sure it is dry. ;)

 again with your dotting tool, create a small oval inside rilakkuma's face with the white acrylic paint.
 let it dry ^___^

once the white part is dried, get your dotting tool again and dip it to your black acrylic paint or nail polish and dot the upper-middle part of the oval for rilakkuma's nose.

 dip the dotting tool on the same black color and make rilakkuma's eyes.

 you can either use your detail brush or dotting tool in this step.
 create rilakkuma's mouth (smiling mouth)....
 let it all dry.

 okay, now for the cup cake :)
 start by doing an outline of an inverted trapezoid. this will be the base of our cupcake.
 then fill it in.

 okay, i forgot to save two steps of this picture T_T....(SORRY)

 get your detail brush and white acrylic paint.
draw a poop-like shape on top of the inverted trapezoid (i couldn't think of any name to call it HAHA) to create the whipped cream. let it dry.
 once your cupcake shape is dried. outline it again with the black acrylic paint for the details.

 upon waiting for your designs to dry, get your fimo bow, and stick it on the top-middle part of your accent nail with a topcoat.

 wait for everything to dry. i waited for at least 30 minutes before applying top coat.
(putting top coat to your not-so-dry design can result to smearing, and of course we don't want that to happen. remember: patience is a virtue. hihi)

 okay, now that your design is super dry. you're good to apply top coat to protect your design from chipping :D

and

I hope you guys understand my instructions though hihi, it looks really complicated without the real demo.
but, anyways i finally got a tripod so, maybe i'll be filming my next-next nail art design, so it'll be a lot easy to understand and to follow :)

thank you so much! ^__^

PS: i am currently doing my nail art design of the week.
follow me in instagram for more updates ;)

love and respect.
