REVIEW: ARC Mobile Nitro 500D (UPDATED)

Hello!,

                          Wow, it feels like forever since I last posted here. Finals was rough!, i had so many projects to finish, take home exams to answer and other school stuff. I also needed to do a sideline to earn me some bucks, i had so many things needed for our projects and i needed to pay my share on electricity and water at our apartment, as a student that spells A--L-O-T! ::>_<::...And because of that I get to sleep a lot later than usual so instead of writing here about everything, I followed what my body wants me to do and that is to sleep and eat! HAHA! ^_^

                         Now, to catch up, I figured I would do a gadget review because I haven't done one in a while and I want to give it a try...So i will be reviewing my recently purchased phone, the ARC Mobile Nitro 500D...

APPEARANCE:

 my unit is white and kenji has the black one..(couple phones haha)

 the covering is made of hard plastic or acrylic plastic (i think)..and it's glossy. framed with silver to accent the phone which gives it a chic look ;)

 all in all the unit is almost 6 inches big + 3 inches wide + 11cm thick.

 the unit already has screen protector in it, which i like :))

 it kind of resembles the samsung note. a lot my classmates mistaken it for samsung note or samsung s3 LOL.
 in my opinion the bezel is a bit thick for me, comparing it to other local phones that has slender bezels.

 also in the front you can see the sensor + earpiece and the front VGA cam

 and as for the bottom part  of the front you can see the

recent + the home button and the back button...

 as you can see the back part has the led flash + the 5mp auto-focus cam + the built-in speaker.

 and of course the brands logo at the bottom part ^__^

 on the right side you can se the power or end button.

 on the top there's the usb port or the charger port + the hole for the earphones / dust stopper :D  

 on the left is the volume keys.

 in terms of built-in quality you definitely like this phone because they made it with a hard plastic, which looks very solid .   

 for the UI (user interface) you will notice that it is in it's stock jelly bean (obviously), no other apps installed which i think is good, cause i won't be needing a lot of apps that will not be very useful at school or work or for everyday basis. also the icons are in default jelly bean icons. but i changed mine to this adorable rilakkuma theme! ^____^ you can also change your launcher and them by downloading at playstore or directly on the net and look for a launcher the best fit your personality :)

 looking at the camera features of this phone, it already has a panorama shot, burst shot up to 99 shotsalso the basic settings, like the scene mode, ISO, auto white balance, flash, HDR effect (also a new feature) and other stuff usually seen in android phones cam settings...

 for the video settings, it is capable of shooting HD vids, it also has continuous focus and infinity focus which is good, same as the camera settings it also has the "effects" and other basic stuff which is also found in most smart phones ^___^

 zooming in and zooming out (pinching the screen) photos in this phone is quite responsive, there's no lags, or jumping in to other images when you touch the screen.

 typing massages is quite a zip, cause the screen is big, you can use both thumb .

+ at first, i personally i find it hard cause i have long nails, but when i get used to it, it's a no-brainer! :)

PS: i am using the gokeyboard which i have downloaded also at playstore. you can change the look of your qwerty and the appeance. i love this app because you can customize your keyboard to your preferred size or font, and since i have long nails, having this app is a big help for me :)

 i also like the stock browser of this phone, cause everything loads fast. comparing it to the chrome app, i really did not like the chrome app, because the images duplicates, and it takes forever to load and image .PERSONALLY i prefer using the built-in browser ;)

 we tried testing and checking the phones performance on the antutu benchmark and this phone scored: 7000+ (seven thousand plus!)...i am sorry, i forgot to take a screenshot :(((

and on the quadrant it resulted to 2k+, and if you'll check on the display information, you can see that the refresh rate is at 63.03Hz, and thought the resolution is only at 480x800 it''' give you good performance! ;)    

 when it comes to performance the device runs quite good because it's dual core with 1gz processor, quite snappy for a cheap device...we tried loading it with games that requires higher specs but, it's great, no lags at all! the only problem is the phone only has a minimum amount of RAM memory which i think not suited for gaming purposes (RAM: 515mb + ROM: 4g memory expandable upto 32g via SD card) some of the apps can be stored in the SD card and some are (mostly) automatically installed in the phone memory .

 battery life is 50% good .without using the wifi hotspot, without playing--just plain texting and calling the battery life can last a day. on the other hand, using the wifi/wifi hotspots  playing + texting and calling...let's just say i needed to charge the unit 2 to 3 times a day. the battery life really depends on the user, if you really want your battery to last a day, maybe plan on scheduling using your apps, like an hour on for the wifi 3 hours on the gaming, stuff like that, maybe this way, it can help your battery life last for a day :D

 because the unit runs in Android jellybean, this means you have the authority almost all the apps. what i like the most about android jelly bean is that, you can post short videos in instagram! :) and so much more!

for those who sent me msgs through tumblr asking me to post pictures from this phone I'm so sorry but, I am now using a different phone. I accidentally dropped my arc mobile and the screen was seriously damaged and after that incident the phone does not respond properly so i've decided not to use it anymore, thanks for appreciating this review tho!   ^_^
