- school days are long and tiring, but we want to make sure our makeup lasts even longer! I made a list of some essential things to bring, but these are all just my opinion. Some may not apply to you, but this is just what I do! Here are my top 10 things you should bring to school beauty wise:
- powder
- lip balm
- q tips
- blotting sheets/ tissue
- compact mirror
- eyelash curler
- hand sanitizer
- lipstick/lip gloss
- lotion
- tinted moisturizer
If you’re not sure why these are essential to bring to school, keep reading!
1. Powder
Powder is used to eliminate shine and to mattify your face. You might need this after gym, or if you’re like me, you just get shiny throughout the day. Just take the puff that comes with it or a flat top brush to apply it. Some brand(s) I recommend: Maybelline shine free powder .
2. Chapstick
This one is pretty obvious. Lips can get really dry and flaky during the wintertime because of the harsh winds so I suggest bring lip balm everywhere, if you don’t already. We talk a lot during school, we eat, we drink water. Our lips are bound to get dry at one point. Don’t lick them! Instead apply chapstick (preferably one with SPF!). Some brand(s) I recommend are: Nivea, Babylips.
3. Q tips
These are important because they can fix ANYTHING. If your eyeliner smeared a bit under your eye, fix it by running this under some water and wiping it, or squeezing a bit of tinted moisturizer and covering it. If your lipstick rubbed a bit outside of your lips, just wipe it. If you mascara is clumpy, run the q tip on it a few times and you’re done. I’m sure there are many more ways to use this so it’s essential! If none of those apply to you, I’m sure you’ll find a way to use them. Really any brand works!
4. Blotting sheets/tissue paper
These help soak up any sweat that may have come from gym, or just because the school doesn’t know what AC is. There’s a difference between being oily and shiny. I get shiny, but when I use blotting sheets nothing happens. So only get these if you know for a fact your skin is oily. Check here. I suggest blotting first and applying powder second. Some brand(s) I recommend: Clean and Clear, Neutrogena.
5. Compact Mirror
These are smaller mirrors that are easy to carry around. In class, whenever my teacher doesn’t let me go to the bathroom, I just use this secretly. I just use this to see if I need to touch up on anything, so that I know if I need to stop by the bathroom after class!
6. Eyelash curler
Eyelash curlers are my number one tool in my makeup bag. They make my eyes look bigger and my eyelashes more noticeable.
7. Hand Sanitizer
This is pretty obvious. We touch lockers, doorknobs, tables, desk, pencils, computers, other people, and lots of things. Our hands have so many germs on it and when we touch our face we’re transferring those germs onto our skin. Which in the end, causes acne! So I recommend carrying hand sanitizer to keep them clean. Portable ones are great to put onto backpacks and purses. Some brand(s) I recommend: bench hand sanitizer (fruity scents)
8. Lip stick/Lip gloss
My lips are super sensitive and they get red from just eating! Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t like when my lips are any other color except nude and light pink. So I bring around lipstick and lip gloss. Sometimes I’ll switch between lipsticks, lip stains, and tinted lip balms.
9. Lotion
All of us get dry skin, especially during the winter time! If you don’t need it, that day someone will.
10. Tinted moisturizer/BB Creams
I bring this around because at school, I workout and when I workout my cheeks get really red and splotchy so I use this to add some more coverage. Also, I have combination skin so in some areas, I need more coverage! I mentioned tinted moisturizers in number 3 so you could get an idea of how to use it at school!
