Before I go ahead and study my notes for my final exam. I first wanna make a review about one of the things in my recent haul...I was looking for a cheap brow pencil liner at the department store, I went straight to the ever belena counter, but I did not find the "brown" color that I wanted so I went and ask the sales assistant, and she assisted me and then handed me the nichido minerals/precise eye pencil in chestnut (wew! That's long name for a pencil liner). The first thing I noticed about the product was the price!, and I thought it was a bit pricey haha, I was aiming for pencil liners that would merely cost me 80Php--100Php , but the moment I removed the lid and saw the shade, it was just perfect...I swatch it on my hand and thought it nearly matched my hair color so, I thanked the sales lady and went to the cashier.
When I got home, I went straight to my room and inspected it. I realized that the product is made for the eyes?! not for the brows lol, but the hell with it...my purpose on buying it was for my brows lol~ :P
the product:
length: 5 inches x 1/2 cm (lid included).
appearance: wooden body; translucent white pastic lid.
net weight: 0.004 oz/ 1.14 g
others: water resistant; allergy tested
price: 138.00 Php
The texture is softer compared to other pencil liners that I have tried which were wax based, I think the product is 3/4 wax and 1/4 minerals (theory ko lang pows!) that is why, it's softer so it'd glide smoothly on the lids which is for the fact a gentle area.
I tried it on my brown to see what would it look like,
and as for the result:
here's a photo of me wearing the said product.
this was shot after several hours from school and as you can see, my brow is still groomed,
but a bit faded (my face gets oily, the time I wiped off some excess oil, some of the product were removed).
during application: the product is pigmented and smudgy it can be easily applied and can be easily blended with an eyebrow brush or brow spoolie. It'll give you more natural looking brows and would definitely suit girls with dark brown to light brown hair color.
swatch out!
shot in natural light
I have here three kinds of swatches using the product, using different strokes
(from left to right)
first swatch: gave it a single stroke; which results to a lighter shade perfect for lining the lid
second swatch: two strokes; resulted of course twice the appearance of the color. (I prefer this weight for my brows)
last swatch: four strokes; outcome: full-chestnut. (this would be great for heavy eye make-up, and if you want to have a thick-fuller-looking brows)
I took a shower after swatching it on my arm, it did not fade, budge or smudge, until I rubbed it on with soap a couple of times .
positive side:
- pigmented
- easy to apply; with no streaks and harsh lines
- easy to blend
- perfect for black to dark brown--medium brown hair colored gals
- lightweight, so you can do make up on-the-go!
- will give you natural looking brows
- glides smoothly
- stays on my brows for hours without fading
- affordable (for people with jobs! Haha)
- the textures is soft and waxy
- can be darken or toned down, depending on strokes
negative sides:
- I cannot think of a con but, I wish it was oil resistant, because my face really tends to oil a lot and some of the product fades when I wipe lol.
overall:
This makes a pretty good brow pencil. If you are looking for a good pencil liner, then this is a pencil liner to rock! :)
