that say “all-in-one” is one of the things I am weak at opposing. Like this
foundation from Maybelline called, Maybelline
clear smooth all-in-one shine-free foundation (whew that’s mouth-full). Honestly, this is the foundation I’ve
been using since it was ever created, though
I did attempt using other foundations, I always go back to this, candidly
speaking. Let’s just say, we’ve been through a lot of ups and downs and
this has been my longest relationship with a cosmetic.
When it comes to foundation, I always put my trust to foundations that offers full-coverage, this way my imperfections will be covered, I have been experiencing a slight blemish, which is why I badly need something to cover them up and a foundation that would give me a light feel and would still give me a natural look and color as possible.
So, without further more interlude, let me share you guys my experience with this foundation. And what I think of it ^___^
NOTE: to
some extent, a long review. I am sorry; I wanted my review to be as precise and
straight to the point as possible. I hope you won’t get tired reading hihi ^__^V
and I did it in a “research paper” kind of way? Lol, I’m not really good making
a review so, I beg for your considerations.
This
product comes in three packaging as far
as I know. First is the main
product which comes in a rectangular baby pink plastic container with mirror
and sponge applicator. Second is the refill,
it also comes in a baby pink square container with sponge applicator. And the third one is their new “to-go” packaging, also in baby pink
plastic but, this time in a circular container, with mirror and sponge
applicator--which I am using now.
I
usually get the shade “honey” but it was not available by that time so I got
the “nude beige” variant instead.
And I
bought it at a local mall here at our place which they sell at PHP99 and have 3.5g
of product.
And here’s what the back part looks like. Same descriptions on the main product and the refill.
Here’s
how the product looks like upfront. It is
small, I mean cute. I can grasp it with one hand ^_____^
WARNING: pa-cute face ahead! HAHAHAHAA :DDD

~ what the product promises.
+ SHINE CONTROL- Blend of water and sebum-repellent powders keep skin matte and wonderfully fresh throughout the wear. True, this does quiet well in controlling shine, though since I have combination skin, the shine won’t last that long— in my experience.
+ HIGH UV PROTECTION- SPF 25, among the highest in sun protection, shields from skin darkening, with PA++ for added protection. Yes, in addition this is a good point to this foundation, but what I really don’t like personally about this foundation is its high SPF, because it catches too much light when you’re going to use this in flash photography. This foundation (I think) is made for day use only, so I would suggest using different foundation with lower SPF or photo-ready foundation instead when you are going to have your pictures taken or going on night outs.
+ INSTANT FAIRNESS- Infused with pro vitamin C, it instantly makes skin look fairer and more natural. Agreed! When I use this, my face lights up like I’ve been using glutathione haha! But, the fairness that it gives is as natural as your skin color. And because of the yellowish undertone it is perfect for us Filipinas! ;)
+ DARK SPOTS BLEND AWAY- Ultra fine powders and coated pigments effortlessly cover spots for fair and even skin. I will give this statement 70% of my approval, because using the product alone did not give me the coverage that I highly expected. But, when I use it to set my BB cream it is quite very helpful.
+LONG LASTING- Breathable and lightweight, makeup stays true and even throughout the wear. Hmm well, it really depends upon the situation. You see, I come to a very humid place, and with my face’s condition? It’s impossible for a foundation to last longer than three hours! :((( If we are in the same shoes you’ll understand me. Though in other hand, when the weather is cool, I should say that that stay-on power can surpass hours compared on humid days. (ironically speaking lol)
+ VISIBLE SMOOTH COMPLEXION- Silky soft texture glides to visibly even out skin’s surface for a smooth complexion. True, but I highly doubt about the “silky-soft-texture”, we’re talking about my skin, right? So, It’d be ridiculous to describe my skin with those beautiful adjectives hahaha!. The accurate adjective to use is “matte” and yes, smooth—it gives me that almost perfect skin!
+CONCEAL BLEMISHES AND PORES- Blemishes and pores are instantly concealed traceless. Skin looks flawless. I’ll give the same remarks as the “dark spots blend away” statement :D
+ TONE PERFECTING- Developed for South East Asian Skin tone, each shade blends effortlessly all over for a natural non-cakey finish. Fact!. Because of its yellowish undertone, the shades are impressive! J I know it’s weird but, I like it when it oxidizes haha, it somehow feels like the product and my skin become one—that’s the best way I can describe the LOL!.
Other remarks:
+ personally, I did not like the sponge applicator. I don’t know, it felt weird the time I used it.
+ the main product and refill are very fragile, they crack and break, which is sad because it gets messy :(
I highly
recommend this foundation to all students, fellow low-budgeted people and to
everyone who’s looking for a cheaper-way-to look-good cosmetic. No doubt, this is a good product to use and
try I guess I already said too much. But it is
always up to you guys! ;)
Thank you so much for the patience and time
for reading my review!
Comments are always welcome and suggestions
are highly appreciated.
