I admit, this is one of the things that can bring me down and ruin my day. having a cracked nail can really make me shed a tear. ang hirap kaya mag pahaba ng kuko :'( Though I'm using nail hardener, my nails are still prone to breaking when it's exposed to chemicals that can make the nails brittle like detergents. So, it is necessary to keep them moisturized by applying hand creams, hand lotion, stuffs like that to keep them in good condition. But, i guess we can't do that often because of work, chores and so many more. If ever this awful thing happen to you, I got the perfect remedy :) I got this idea from pinterest, then I tried it. And because it worked for me, I am also going to share this great idea to you guys :) are you ready?
Okay first things first. We need: nail hardener, tea bag, nail buffer and (optional) scissors .
STEP 1:
clean your nails by removing the nail polish.
STEP 2:
slowly buff the nail to smooth-en the surface of the nail. (don't over do it or else the crack might get worst)
STEP 3:
cut a piece of the tea bag just the right size to cover the crack. (or you can just rip the tea bag off if you don't want to use scissors)
STEP 4:
apply a thick layer of base coat allover nails.
and quickly put the piece of teabag on top of the crack.
wait for the base coat to dry.
STEP 5:
re-apply base coat over the tea bag and allover the nails. and again let everything dry.
here's a picture after the base coat had dried
invisible teabag :D
I tried this right after I did my laundry, my right thumb accidentally hang on my towel when I was squeezing it. The crack was at the middle of the nail so I can't cut them because, some parts of the nail is still attached on my skin. And I was so scared that it might bleed or worst get wounded if i'll force myself to remove it. So, I'm really glad I got this technique. Now I can wait for the nail to grow and cut it when it's safe to cut it. And I can even paint my nails without worrying too much about the crack :)
Who ever thought of this very great idea I salute you! <3
and I pretty hope this will help you too :)
Good luck!
